Our 1996 AAA Minnesota Cyclone team
was formed in 2007 and just
completed its first season.
Approximately 20 percent of our
initial roster had prior AAA and
traveling A team competitive
experience. The foundation of our
training was on skill development
and a simple team system. The
players were challenged by a highly
structured and disciplined program
that focused on the details of the
skating skills, stick handling and
passing. The players were held
accountable to a high standard of
execution and responsibility. We
participated in two tournaments and
six additional games. The end
results of their efforts culminated
in a successful 13 win season that
included four losses, three of which
were by one goal.
As a result of our player’s
development, a large number of
requests about our program were made
by families seeking similar
developmental opportunities. As a
result of this interest, we are very
excited to announce additional teams
for the birth years 1994, 1997
and U10/U12 girls.
Each birth year will feature one
team. Each team will follow the same
practice based philosophy. The focus
will be individual skill development
and a simple team concept. All
training will be at the Schwan’s
Super Rink and Herb Brooks Training
Center in
Blaine, Minnesota. Each player will
be responsible for completing weekly
supplemental dryland training
assignments that will provide
additional repetition to enhance
on-ice training.
